N2 - The paper is aimed to explain several counterintuitive properties of tidal
forces. We have shown that tidal forces are very weak on the surface of the planets.
The Newtonian and relativistic approach provides the same results for the tidal forces
nearby a spherically symmetric body. We have shown that the magnitude of tidal
force on horizon of the non-rotating black hole is inversely proportional to the square
of black hole’s mass.
