The glass sample is assembled from window glass plates of dimensions 6 x 35 x 100 mm. A ruler, sheet of paper, pencil and some pins are needed for a measure of the refractive index. A derivation of the formula for the refractive index is based on Snell’s law and geometrical picture of the light beam in the sample. ER -
