In Slovakia, there are two nuclear power plants (NPP) in operation; namely Jaslovské Bohunice (1972) and Mochovce (1998); each consisting of the two blocks (nuclear reactors). The main attention is given to the safe and efficient operation. Both power plants obtained a high score in the international assessments of WANO and IAEA. In Mochovce, a special and well-equipped information centre opens in September 2014. The centre is planned primarily as an educational facility for primary schools, secondary schools and universities.
