Abstract
The selfassessment is an important part of the formative assessment. The paper discusses the research results with grammar school students and the case study results with two students. The results show that students are able to evaluate their abilities realistically and they consider selfassessment as an important part of the evaluation process. The paper also includes examples of the selfassessment questionnaire and selfassessment rubrics linked to the content of the mathematical education. During the case study, a collaboration with two students who used the selfassessment rubrics during one thematic unit of mathematics was connected and recorded.
